A rug as a modern canvas of orange, peach, gold, blue, and taupe in roughly applied brush strokes underneath an application of opaque grey in broad horizontal and vertical swathes. Seemingly scratched striations in the grey reveal the colors beneath, highlighting the layered effect. The background is Tibetan wool; the grey, broad-brush foreground is pure, high quality, Chinese silk. The effect of the sheen and luster of the silk is that the grey transforms from lighter to darker as the rug is viewed from different directions. The shimmering effect adds a refined luxury to the bold impact of the swiftly applied brushstroke design.

Handcrafted in Nepal by Tibetan and Nepali Artisans
We start with Tibetan highland sheep's wool known as "Jampbel", which is prized for its luster, stain-resistance and durability. The wool is carefully prepared using traditional hand-spinning and hand-dyeing methods. Teams of weavers then expertly hand-knot the rug on a vertical loom for months, resulting in a distinctive rug that will increase in beauty over the years.
